Canyon Computer Services, formerly known as Aerdyne Microsystems, was founded in 1991 by Aaron Schacht. Aaron has extensive experience installing networks and designing database solutions for businesses.
In 1991, Aaron was immersing himself in the world of FoxPro (a database development tool), which was a DOS application developed by Fox Software. FoxPro was arguably the fastest database engine in the world due to its proprietary Rushmore technology. In fact, to this very day, FoxPro's database engine is reportedly twice as fast as SQL Server's in some cases.
Aaron started out by creating software for a telemarketing company that managed information about thousands of calls made by telemarketers. To top it off, he also set up the company's entire network system, making sure the hardware and software worked harmoniously.
From 1992 through 1993, Aaron was installing and managing Novell networks with hundreds of workstations. Aaron also designed software to interface with PBX phone systems, so reports could be produced for management in order to analyze employee productivity.
Early in 1994, Aerdyne hired Kenneth Jackson, a phone and network cabling expert from AT&T. Ken helped Aaron install coax and Ethernet cabling in various offices throughout the Chicago area.
Later in 1994, Aaron was hired by a company called Decision Software Systems of Glenview, Illinois. It was here where Aaron truly honed his FoxPro programming skills. Aaron still ran Aerdyne Microsystems on the side so he could continue to support his loyal customer base. |
